My Two Bits - Zorek Richards
Aug 21, 2020: \
👉The allegations of criminality against Trump’s inner circle are unprecedented in American history — and Bannon’s arrest is just the latest in a long line of criminal charges involving Trump’s confidants. Trump, of course, knows nothing about it and hasn't seen Bannon in a long long time. (A standard response from Trump who will likely try to get it trademarked like he tried to get "You're Fired" in 2004). He should have checked his story with Bannon though because Bannon has been telling friends he and Trump HAVE been communicating with one another in recent months. Whoops

👉
Steve Bannon. Paul Manafort. Roger Stone. Michael Flynn. George Papadopoulos. Rick Gates. Michael Cohen. The seven dwarfs? Nope. the number of Donald Trump advisers who have been criminally charged. Sneezey, whoops, I mean Stevie is the latest and was charged with one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and one count of conspiracy to commit laundering. While QAnon is out protecting Trump from Cannibals they should be watching out for Trump staff--current & past.

👉1.1 Million more workers file for unemployment as tally remains at historic high. A mind-boggling 57.3 million workers now have filed for unemployment over the past 22 weeks. Before the pandemic, the previous all-time high for weekly claims was 695,000 during a recession in 1982. Under Trumps watch we just went back to the cold war and we dont even get A Flock of Seagulls to do the soundtrack.

Aug 20, 2020: New York Post: NASCAR’s Trump 2020 car is stuck with Goodyear tires
The lone NASCAR Cup Series driver with a “Trump 2020” paint scheme will continue to use Goodyear tires in upcoming races despite President Trump’s call Wednesday for a boycott of the Ohio-based tire company.

Reporter: They (QAnon) Think You’re "Secretly Saving the World from This Satanic Cult of Pedophiles and Cannibals"
Trump: "Well I haven't heard that, but is that supposed to be a bad thing?"

In reponse to Trump critique about New Zealand, their Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern fired back at Trump, calling his remarks "patently wrong." "I think anyone who's following COVID and its transmission globally will quite easily see that New Zealand's nine cases in a day does not compare to the United States' tens of thousands, and in fact does not compare to most countries in the world," she said. Nuff said.

👉A federal major disaster declaration approved Monday does not include financial assistance for Iowans recovering from last week's devastating derecho, President Trump already tweeting he approved the state's application in "FULL." In defense, Trump was probably busy meantweeting the New Zealand prime minister and forgot.

Aug 17, 2020: Christianity Today: Right-to-Life Spokeswoman Won’t Support Trump
A pro-life spokeswoman quit her job rather than endorse Donald Trump for another term in the White House.

“You learn to hold certain things in tension, and for me it came to a point where I couldn’t anymore,” Krider said. “I’ve been grateful for the things Trump has accomplished and skeptical of his pro-life views.
“Always, there has been this undercurrent where he just does not respect women and he does not like black and brown people. I can’t look at any of his behavior and see evidence of the Holy Spirit in his life. Nothing about his words or actions are kind or gentle or faithful or full of self-control.”
The Trump era has revealed the complete fusion of evangelical Christianity and conservative politics, even as white evangelical Christianity continues to decline as a share of the national population. There are some signs of fraying at the edges of the coalition, among some women and young people. If even a small fraction turns away from Mr. Trump, it could make the difference to his re-election.  -Elizabeth Dias (New York Times)
Aug 14, 2020: Gallup: Religious Identity and the 2020 Presidential Election
Of particular interest this election cycle is the religious identity of voters, a factor that appears, at least to me, more important than it has been in recent presidential elections. This is in part because Joe Biden is only the fourth major-party Catholic presidential nominee in U.S. history and in part because Donald Trump continues to make the courting of evangelical voters a major priority of his campaign. Both the Biden and Trump campaigns have appointed coordinators to reach out to faith communities.

Apparently QAnon is trying to protect Trump from this band even though they disbanded in 1992. (or is that just what they wanted us to think😉???) 🙄🙄🙄🙄

July 14, 2020: ABC Religion & Ethics: What lies beneath? COVID-19 and the racial politics of face masks

Face masks have become flashpoints for disputes over national identity, liberty, and the limits of state power in a range of locations — perhaps nowhere more so than the United States. The uncovered face has become an important political signifier, with President Donald Trump until very recently refusing to wear a face mask and mocking those who choose to do so. With Trump reportedly believing that wearing a mask would make him appear “weak,” his uncovered face illustrates his persona as the simultaneously invincible and victimised leader. As the death toll mounted in the Republican heartland, senior party leaders began to soften their opposition to face masks, with Vice President Mike Pence among those photographed wearing masks and some Republican governors mandating their use in confined spaces in order to mitigate the risks of reopening the economy.
May 31, 2020: New York Times: Trump Says He Will Designate Antifa as a Terrorist Organization
U.S. President Donald Trump said on Sunday the U.S. government will designate anti-fascist group Antifa as a terrorist organization. The announcement, made by Trump on Twitter, comes amid violent nationwide protests about police brutality following the death of a black man seen on video gasping for breath as a white Minneapolis police officer knelt on his neck.
Thinking Is hard
"He simply said it was out there and that people ought to know — and with virtually every conspiracy theory that Trump touts, he doesn’t actually tout them himself. He spreads them and he -- under the guise of people need to know about this, and it’s his way of jamming them up. It’s his way of teasing him. It’s his way of getting these conspiracy theories out there.....So Trump is just throwing gasoline on a fire here, and he’s having fun watching the flames — and he’s having fun watching these holier-than-thou leftist journalists react like their moral sensibilities have been forever rocked and can never recover." --Rush Limbaugh

As President Trump terminates the U.S.’s relationship with the agency, experts foresee incoherence, inefficiency and a resurgence of deadly diseases
May 24, 2020: Forbes: Why Trump Falsely Accuses Scarborough Of A Death
President Trump has posted two tweets making false allegations that Joe Scarborough was involved in the death of an employee who died of a heart condition while working in one of Scarborough’s district offices. Trump tweeted, “A blow to her head? Body found under his desk? Left Congress suddenly? Big topic of discussion in Florida...and, he’s a Nut Job (with bad ratings). Keep digging, use forensic geniuses!” He then tweeted, “A lot of interest in this story about Psycho Joe Scarborough. So a young marathon runner just happened to faint in his office, hit her head on his desk, & die? I would think there is a lot more to this story than that? An affair?”

May 14, 2020: The Trump administration was named by white evangelicals as the source they would most likely rely on as a major source of news. That was followed by national news networks and local news outlets. Public health officials were the fourth most consulted source. Christianity Today: Where Do White Evangelicals Get Their Coronavirus News? The White House
Nonsense is nonsense, except when it kills. And conspiracy thinking, especially when advanced by the president of the United States, is an existential threat. --Jeffrey Goldberg The Atlantic May 13, 2020
May 12, 2020: Christian Post: Belief by church attendees that Trump was 'anointed by God' on the rise: survey
Among white Protestants who attended church once a week or more, belief that Trump was anointed by God had increased from 29.6% last year to 49.5% this year, according to a report titled “Trump the Anointed?” that was published by Religion in Public.
March 31, 2020: National Interest: Mistake: Trump's Evangelical Allies Ignore Science When It Comes To Coronavirus
Some of these religious leaders may become more emboldened by President Donald Trump’s recent comments. Trump said he wanted to have the U.S. economy back on track and Christian churches packed on Easter, before reluctantly taking the advice of U.S. health officials and extending social isolation at least through the month of April. Fox News anchor Bill Hemmer called this vision of Americans in churches an “American resurrection.”

A group of “never-Trump” Republicans targets Christian voters in its first political ad warning that “evangelical leaders who lay their loyalty and faith on the altar of Donald Trump are betraying their congregants and their country.” “It is clear that in exchange for power and money these ‘pastors’ have been tasked with recasting Trump’s absurdities and moral failures as nothing short of prophetic divinity,” says a social media caption introducing a 2 ½-minute video titled “The MAGA Church.”  Baptist News Global 01.10.20: Anti-Trump Republicans target evangelicals in ad blasting the ‘MAGA Church’

Dec 20, 2019: Times of San Diego: Jim Garlow, Ex-Skyline Church Leader, Rips ‘Christianity Today’ Slam of Trump
Christianity Today, founded in 1956 by the late Billy Graham, came under attack from Trump himself, asking if the magazine “is looking for Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders, or those of the socialist/communist bent, to guard their religion.”
Trump added in a tweet: “How about Sleepy Joe? The fact is, no President has ever done what I have done for Evangelicals, or religion itself!”

July 11, 2019: USA Today: Miriam Adelson wants a 'Book of Trump' in the Bible. We asked an expert if that's possible
Read the writings of Miriam Adelson, the Israeli-American wife of GOP mega donor Sheldon Adelson, and you'll find her case to expand the holy book with a story named after the 45th president of the United States.

Some observers of the Cohen hearings are concluding that he must be right because he "sounds credible." <<--a phrase I've heard several times from various politicians and media talking heads over the last couple days. This is not a defense of Cohen or Trump, but some of the greatest conmen in the world have "sounded credible" only to find out through investigation that they lied. "Sounding credible" is not a proof of anything. As a general rule I dont watch any hearings from any congressional committees because they want us to believe they have some kind of interest in justice instead of their self-interest in grand standing and self-pontification. This is clearly the same old same old.

Mar 5, 2018: Vox: The biblical story the Christian right uses to defend Trump
Mitchell runs swiftly through the first two options, citing both a condemnation of Trump and an endorsement by Focus on the Family’s James Dobson. But it’s the third option — that God himself has chosen Trump to be president — that Mitchell focuses on.
Evangelical thinker Lance Wallnau then gives Mitchell his take: Trump is a “modern-day Cyrus,” an ancient Persian king chosen by God to “navigate in chaos.
Jan 16, 2017: Christian Post: James Dobson: Top 3 Reasons Evangelicals Backed Trump Over Clinton
Evangelical leader Dr. James Dobson has claimed that there are three main reasons why President-elect Donald Trump was chosen by evangelical Christians over his Democratic rival Hillary Clinton in November's elections, arguing that the fight against abortion was deemed the most important issue by believers.

Jan 14, 2017: WND: CAIR to Trump: Drop Franklin Graham from inaugural prayers
The Council on American-Islamic Relations, a Muslim-rights group designated by the Justice Department as a terrorist co-conspirator, is calling on Donald Trump to drop Rev. Franklin Graham as one of six clergy who will offer prayers at the Jan. 20 inauguration ceremony.
