‘Disgusting!’ Adam Kinzinger Pens Scathing Column for Fox News Burying Trump and Vance Over Stolen Valor Claims Against Tim Walz
Ever since the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, ex-GOP congressman Adam Kinzinger has been one of the Right’s most vocal critics of former President Donald Trump. As such, it can hardly be considered surprising that Kinzinger — an Air Force veteran who served in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan — would attack Trump and Sen. JD Vance (R-OH) for their stolen valor claims against Gov. Tim Walz (D-MN). However, the venue for Kinzinger’s latest condemnation of Donald Trump is sure to raise some eyebrows. Kinzinger, a senior political commentator for CNN, made a cameo for Fox News digital late Friday — penning a column for FoxNews.com in which he slammed Trump and Vance for going after the Minnesota governor.

Bob Brown: Kinzinger for VP — A ticket to unify the nation
In most election years the candidates for vice president have little real effect on election outcomes. The most often cited exception to this is the presence on the long ago 1960 Democratic ticket of Sen. Lyndon Johnson, who probably carried Johnson’s home state of Texas for the Kennedy-Johnson ticket. People now on Social Security were barely born in that year of JFK and LBJ. The rollicking politics of this year, however, may set the stage for a real and meaningful selection for vice president. The emergence of dynamic and charismatic Kamala Harris now provides the Democrats with a running chance to win. She is confronted by a veritable parade of conventional politicians clamoring to be her running mate. None of them offer anything of real substance to the country or to a winning Democratic ticket.

Adam Kinzinger Endorses Biden: ‘What Putting Your Country Before Your Party Looks Like’
Former Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-Ill.) is announcing his support for President Joe Biden’s re-election bid. In a post on X on Wednesday, Kinzinger — a sharp critic of former President Donald Trump and member of the House committee that investigated the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S Capitol — wrote, “As a proud conservative, I’ve always put America’s Democracy and our Constitution above all else.” He also shared a video where he noted he has differences with the current president’s policies. “It’s because of my unwavering support for democracy that today, as a proud conservative, I’m endorsing Joe Biden for re-election,” Kinzinger said. “I know that he will always protect the very thing that makes America the best country in the world: our democracy.”

Former Congressman Adam Kinzinger delivers Fowler lecture
Adam Kinzinger did not want to serve on the bipartisan committee to investigate the 2021 United States Capitol attack. In fact, he prayed that he would not be appointed. “I didn’t want to serve on the committee because I knew the cost,” he said. “But I have a kid … I didn’t have a choice. I knew I had to take that position on the committee because I knew that this moment in accountability for democracy is what mattered most.” Kinzinger, who served six terms as a Republican U.S. representative for Illinois from 2011 to 2023, recounted that experience on Tuesday night as he addressed a crowd in Roanoke College’s Olin Theater. The guest lecture, titled “Defending Democracy and Defeating Toxic Tribalism,” was presented by the College’s Henry H. Fowler Public Affairs Lecture Series and the Center for Policy, Ethics and Law. Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-Ill.) said on Tuesday that some people “equate Donald Trump with the person of Jesus Christ” in their hearts.
“To them, if you even come against this amazing man, Donald Trump, which obviously quite flawed, you are coming out against Jesus, against their Christian values,” he told MSNBC’s Alex Wagner. “And when you go after their religion, that violates the depth of who they are.” The congressman, who is one of Trump’s fiercest critics in the GOP, received a letter signed by 11 members of his family after he called for Trump to be removed from office through the 25th Amendment to the Constitution in the aftermath of the Jan. 6, 2021, insurrection. The letter says that Kinzinger is a “disappointment to us and to God.” The family members said they were once proud of his accomplishments, but he has gone against his “Christian principles” and joined the “devil’s army,” which they identify as Democrats and the “fake news media.Kinzinger told Wagner that people fear being kicked out of their own tribe, and Republicanism or Trumpism has become people’s identity. He said many pastors in the country are “failing” their congregations through refusing to talk about how “corrosive” Trumpism is. --The Hill: Kinzinger: Some people ‘equate Donald Trump with the person of Jesus Christ’ 8.17.22

A Republican congressman slammed GOP colleague Lauren Boebert’s recent call to end separation of church and state in the US, warning: “There is no difference between this and the Taliban.”“We must opposed [sic] the Christian Taliban,” Adam Kinzinger, a US representative for Illinois, said on Wednesday. “I say this as a Christian.” Kinzinger, who is on the committee investigating the deadly January 6 attack on the US Capitol, was referring to comments that the Colorado Republican congresswoman made at a church in her state. During an address at the Cornerstone Christian Center in Basalt, Boebert said she was exhausted by the separation of church and state principle; this principle is a key tenet of the US constitution. --The Guardian; Kinzinger slams fellow Republican Boebert and warns of ‘Christian Taliban’ 6.30.22
The letter writer’s message was clear: Representative Adam Kinzinger is doing the devil’s work, and he is possessed by demons. It’s not hard to guess why Kinzinger would receive such a note. He was one of 10 Republican members of Congress who defied their party and voted to impeach President Donald Trump for inciting the January 6 insurrection at the Capitol. Kinzinger knew most Republicans in his solidly conservative district would not agree with him. But the choice was easy: As someone who identifies as a born-again Christian, he believes he has to tell the truth. What has been painful, though, is seeing how many people who share his faith have chosen to support Trump at all costs, fervently declaring that the election was stolen. The person who sent that letter—by registered mail, to be extra sure he got it—was a member of Kinzinger’s family. “The devil’s ultimate trick for Christianity … is embarrassing the church,” he told me and a small group of other reporters this week. “And I feel it’s been successful.”Kinzinger is not a pastor or a theologian. He knows his job as a representative is not to preach the gospel but to represent his constituents and vote on legislation. When he’s dead, however, it won’t matter how many elections he won, or how low America’s tax rates are. The Lord has been speaking to him about his role as a Christian in politics, he said, and how he can reach people who are thinking about their eternal life. He has concluded that his faith and his party have been poisoned by the same conspiracy theories and lies, culminating in the falsehood that the election was stolen. When you look at “the reputation of Christianity today versus five years ago, I feel very comfortable saying it’s a lot worse,” he said. “Boy, I think we have lost a lot of moral authority.”But people like Kinzinger have not been the ones shaping the reputation of Christianity in America over the past four years. February 4, 2022:
The Republican Party officially declared the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol “legitimate political discourse” and censured two of its own members, Representatives Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger, for investigating it. It is official now. Republican party is a domestic terrorist regime.
Mitt Romney response to the RNC censure: “Shame falls on a party that would censure persons of conscience, who seek truth in the face of vitriol. Honor attaches to Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger for seeking truth even when doing so comes at great personal cost.”
