Donald Trump Trashes Republicans After Amendment Loses by 'Only One Vote'
Writing on Truth Social, Trump said: "Just heard from Great Congressman Andrew Clyde of Georgia that the Amendment to Defund the Prosecution of a Presidential Candidate prior to November's Election did not pass, 26-25. "It lost by only one vote, because one Republican, Mike Simpson of Idaho, stupidly voted NO, and two 'Republicans,' David Valadao of California and Dan Newhouse of Washington, the only two remaining Impeachers in the House of President Donald J. Trump, didn't show up to vote,' Trump added. "They must have had more important things to do. Also, Mike Garcia of California, David Joyce of Ohio, and Juan Ciscomani of Arizona, didn't show up to vote. Thanks very much, fellas, for your great support!" (Newsweek 7/13/24) READ MORE>>>>>>

Supreme Court snubs House Republicans who dodged metal detectors in Congress after Jan. 6
In the current case, Reps. Andrew Clyde, R-Georgia, Lloyd Smucker, R-Penn., and former Rep. Dec 14, 2022: Politico: Come on down? House GOP weighs the right price to topple a speaker
One Freedom Caucus member who is trying to find middle ground with leadership, Rep. Andrew Clyde (R-Ga.), called the ability to vote on deposing a speaker “incredibly important,” given that the House leader “works for the members of Congress that elected” him or her.
“It’s part of what holds the most senior leadership in Congress accountable,” Clyde said of the motion to vacate the chair.

Oct 2, 2021:
Texas lawmakers Louie Gohmert, Randy Weber, Van Taylor & Dan Crenshaw have all been fined this year for dodging Capitol metal detectors that were put up after the Jan 6 riot.
All four of these congressmen knew the rioters weren't coming for them, anyway, because the rioters were only going to confront the people who respected laws and the Democratic process....and hang Mike Pence and Nancy Pelosi.......attack and kill policemen........wave Confederate and Trump 2020 flags... ......you know, like how Rep. Andrew Clyde and Paul Gosar do whenever they go on a normal tourist visit to the Capitol.
I can count on zero fingers the number of times I went to the US Capitol as a tourist and decided to hang a vice president....

June 17, 2021: New York Magazine: Andrew Clyde Challenging Marjorie Taylor Greene for Mantle of Most Extremist Georgian in Congress
But there were other political beasts roaming through the hills last summer, including both runoff candidates for the Northeast Georgia House seat being abandoned by Doug Collins, who was busy savaging Kelly Loeffler in a Senate primary as a RINO swamp creature (a line of attack Loeffler parried in part by securing an endorsement from Greene). The one who got the most attention was state legislator Matt Gurtler, a Ron Paul acolyte who seemed uncomfortably cozy with white supremacists. But the candidate who beat him was gun dealer Andrew Clyde, whose claim to fame was a legal crusade against the IRS (or, as its agents are sometimes known in Appalachia, the “revenuers”). Clyde styled himself as a MAGA bravo, a Second Amendment absolutist, and a proponent of a total no-exceptions ban on abortions. At the same time, without irony, he described himself as someone who was “standing up to big government.” But these being fairly standard Republican positions at the moment, it was not yet clear that the new representative from the Ninth District of Georgia would threaten Marjorie Taylor Greene’s mantle as the most extremist member of his state’s congressional agenda.

October 13, 2020: Dawson County News: U.S. House 9th District preview: What motivated Andrew Clyde to run for Congress
Battles with the IRS did more than open Andrew Clyde’s eyes to the ways of government. They motivated the Athens gun store owner to embark on a political campaign of his own
“It gave me a great idea of how Congress works – the ins and outs of it,” said Clyde, a Jackson County resident, during a recent interview with The Times in Jefferson.
“The fact that I was able to accomplish this gave me the courage to say, ‘If a private citizen can do this, then what can a member of Congress who is committed do,’” said Clyde, who is seeking a two-year term as U.S. House 9th District representative, replacing Rep. Doug Collins, R-Gainesville, who is running for U.S. Senate.

Sept 8, 2021: Chicago Daily Herald: Give committee what it needs to investigate Jan. 6 riot
