"Trump’s character flaws obviously have an effect on policy decisions, but they also send a terrible signal to the rest of the world — not to mention to young Americans growing up in the era of Trumpism. Hence, in addition to normal concerns about domestic and foreign policy, it felt to many of us that, as President-elect Biden often put it, the “soul of America” was at stake. No wonder that Biden’s victory has brought a tremendous sigh of relief, and even tears of joy, to many people in America and around the world." -Tyler Paytas 11.13.20 (ABC Religion & Ethics/Australia)
Donald Trump, Queen Elizabeth, and Vladimir Putin all die and end up in hell. While there, they spy a red phone and ask what the phone is for. The devil tells them it is for calling back to Earth.
Putin asks to call Russia and talks for 5 minutes.. When he is finished the devil informs him that the cost is a million dollars, so Putin writes him a check. Next Queen Elizabeth calls England and talks for 30 minutes. When she is finished the devil informs her that the cost is 6 million dollars, so she writes him a check. Finally Donald Trump, who had not finished his term, gets his turn and talks for 4 hours. When he is finished the devil informs him that the cost is $5.00. When Putin hears this he goes ballistic and asks the devil why Trump got to call the USA so cheaply. The devil smiles and replies, " Since Trump took over , the country has gone to hell, so it's a local call."😉 |

Donald Trumps dad:
Trump was investigated by a U.S. Senate committee for profiteering in 1954, and again by the State of New York in 1966. Donald became the president of his father's real estate business in 1971, and they were sued by the U.S. Justice Department's Civil Rights Division for violating the Fair Housing Act in 1973. In later years, Fred conducted fraudulent schemes to benefit Donald, and suffered from Alzheimer's disease. In 1997, when his worth exceeded a billion dollars, he transferred the majority of his buildings to his surviving children, who sold them in 2004 for over 16 times their previously declared worth, effectively dodging hundreds of millions of dollars in taxes.

Trump has demanded that his rivals be indicted and jailed.
Trump advocate Harlan Hill tweeted that Kamala Harris is an "insufferable lying b----"
Trump tweeted today that he wants all Afghanistan troops home by Christmas without telling the military.
Trump told Fox News this morning that with Covid "What happens is, you get better. That's what happens: you get better." Ignoring 212,000 deaths nationwide as of today.
Trump blamed families of military war dead for giving him covid.
Elliott Broidy, a Top Trump Fund-Raiser, has been charged in Foreign Influence Case.
Ignoring doctors and CDC regulations Trump has announced he is not contagious. Medical science does not apply to Trump.
This is just from today....... If you think he was unhinged in his first term...in a second he would know he cannot run again so does not have to worry about a reelection. He does not want to be president of the USA, he wants to be King of Trumpland...and his Red Billed Maga Birds are his enablers (along with the RNC and evangelicals who lack discernment)

I have been somewhat of a culture watcher since the 80s. Following the trends, often addressing them satirically. (I am very much into satire). Satirically I have used the word "insane" to describe things...but today I am using it in the truest sense of the word: Donald Trump is insane. He is gone off the rails. After the events of the last few days and his responses to things there's no doubt about it that he has become unhinged. The Founders never addressed such a thing in the Constitution as I doubt the possibility ever crossed their minds. 210,000 American citizens have died under his watch and negligence as he is unable to lead. And the GOP are his enablers.

Today is Constitution day! In 1787 the Constitution was completed and signed. 233 years later we have a President who never read it and if he did, wouldn't follow it anyway.😡 #YoureBeingTrumped2020
Not a lot of good comedy shows on the TV, or maybe I am just not watching it when they are. "Young Sheldon" is funny. Aside from that the only other comedy show I watch is Tucker Carlson. On one show the nerd will grow up to be brilliant and the other show an intellectual nerd has grown up to be a comedian. #YoureBeingTrumped2020
Trump says he will sign an executive order on patriotic education in schools. Calling it the 1776 commission because "Hitler Youth" has already been taken.
Attorney General William Barr appears to have given up any legal sense he should have as AG and is now stumping for Trump and, apparently, himself to get more time as the AG. Looking over his most recent "commentaries" if he were a just a lawyer I would have no faith in being defended by him.
Minneapolis city council "defunds" the police. Now they brought their police chief to answer to them why crimes is going up and why police aren't there to respond. The first sentence answers the second sentence.
If you are still relying on politicians to end abortion you gonna have a long long long long wait...its not a politics resolvable issue anymore

Both the Biden and Trump campaigns have appointed coordinators to reach out to faith communities.

This is in part because Joe Biden is only the fourth major-party Catholic presidential nominee in U.S. history and in part because Donald Trump continues to make the courting of evangelical voters a major priority of his campaign. Both the Biden and Trump campaigns have appointed coordinators to reach out to faith communities.
July 14, 2020: ABC Religion & Ethics: What lies beneath? COVID-19 and the racial politics of face masks
Face masks have become flashpoints for disputes over national identity, liberty, and the limits of state power in a range of locations — perhaps nowhere more so than the United States. The uncovered face has become an important political signifier, with President Donald Trump until very recently refusing to wear a face mask and mocking those who choose to do so. With Trump reportedly believing that wearing a mask would make him appear “weak,” his uncovered face illustrates his persona as the simultaneously invincible and victimised leader. As the death toll mounted in the Republican heartland, senior party leaders began to soften their opposition to face masks, with Vice President Mike Pence among those photographed wearing masks and some Republican governors mandating their use in confined spaces in order to mitigate the risks of reopening the economy.

👉The GOP has formally nominated Trump to a second term. The RNC decided not to do a new platform this year. So this year it will be simple and only two words: Donald Trump. This will make it easier for Trump supporters since most cannot read and those who can just don't anyway.
Trump decided to show up and the crowd actually chanted "12 More Years! 12 more years!" Of course that was at Trump's request. Trump has already admitted that he is --without a doubt --the best leader of all time (and now he has a video to prove it). Of course the only one polling for him to make that calculation was himself. And, to be sure, his supporters (Magas? voters? fans? Twitter followers? cult followers?...whatever they call themselves ) they'll be saying the same thing.
👉Trump also made it a point, again, to declare that Democrats are rigging the election and claims It will be "catastrophic"
(Note: for Trump supporters..sound it out slowly ..and it means "involving or causing sudden great damage or suffering.")
All his sound bytes along that line sound to me like he is already conceding that he is not going to win and the Democrats will be to blame because he stated emphatically that it "will be catastrophic for our nation." "You'll see it" he added.
Will he blame the USPS ? Too early to tell, because he hasn't declared that the Postmaster General probably doesn't have an American birth certificate yet.
👉Kellyanne Conway turned in her resignation citing "family reasons." Conway helped Trump in his 2016 campaign . If she follows the route of previous Trump confidants then an indictment for something may be coming. She is still slated to speak at the convention in spite of not being indicted for anything yet.
👉On the growing list of organizations and people that Trump thinks is out to get him is now the FDA as he tweeted this weekend: "The deep state, or whoever, over at the FDA is making it very difficult for drug companies to get people in order to test the vaccines and therapeutics. Obviously, they are hoping to delay the answer until after November 3rd."
Science has yet to be on Trump's side on any of his snake- oil cures. I'm surprised Trump doesn't start degrading gravity for making him keep his feet on the ground and keeping him from walking on water.

May 31, 2020: New York Times: Trump Says He Will Designate Antifa as a Terrorist Organization
U.S. President Donald Trump said on Sunday the U.S. government will designate anti-fascist group Antifa as a terrorist organization. The announcement, made by Trump on Twitter, comes amid violent nationwide protests about police brutality following the death of a black man seen on video gasping for breath as a white Minneapolis police officer knelt on his neck. |
"He simply said it was out there and that people ought to know — and with virtually every conspiracy theory that Trump touts, he doesn’t actually tout them himself. He spreads them and he -- under the guise of people need to know about this, and it’s his way of jamming them up. It’s his way of teasing him. It’s his way of getting these conspiracy theories out there.....So Trump is just throwing gasoline on a fire here, and he’s having fun watching the flames — and he’s having fun watching these holier-than-thou leftist journalists react like their moral sensibilities have been forever rocked and can never recover." --Rush Limbaugh

May 24, 2020: Forbes: Why Trump Falsely Accuses Scarborough Of A Death
President Trump has posted two tweets making false allegations that Joe Scarborough was involved in the death of an employee who died of a heart condition while working in one of Scarborough’s district offices. Trump tweeted, “A blow to her head? Body found under his desk? Left Congress suddenly? Big topic of discussion in Florida...and, he’s a Nut Job (with bad ratings). Keep digging, use forensic geniuses!” He then tweeted, “A lot of interest in this story about Psycho Joe Scarborough. So a young marathon runner just happened to faint in his office, hit her head on his desk, & die? I would think there is a lot more to this story than that? An affair?” |

Some of these religious leaders may become more emboldened by President Donald Trump’s recent comments. Trump said he wanted to have the U.S. economy back on track and Christian churches packed on Easter, before reluctantly taking the advice of U.S. health officials and extending social isolation at least through the month of April. Fox News anchor Bill Hemmer called this vision of Americans in churches an “American resurrection.”

A group of “never-Trump” Republicans targets Christian voters in its first political ad warning that “evangelical leaders who lay their loyalty and faith on the altar of Donald Trump are betraying their congregants and their country.” “It is clear that in exchange for power and money these ‘pastors’ have been tasked with recasting Trump’s absurdities and moral failures as nothing short of prophetic divinity,” says a social media caption introducing a 2 ½-minute video titled “The MAGA Church.” Baptist News Global 01.10.20: Anti-Trump Republicans target evangelicals in ad blasting the ‘MAGA Church’

Christianity Today, founded in 1956 by the late Billy Graham, came under attack from Trump himself, asking if the magazine “is looking for Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders, or those of the socialist/communist bent, to guard their religion.”
Trump added in a tweet: “How about Sleepy Joe? The fact is, no President has ever done what I have done for Evangelicals, or religion itself!”

Some observers of the Cohen hearings are concluding that he must be right because he "sounds credible." <<--a phrase I've heard several times from various politicians and media talking heads over the last couple days. This is not a defense of Cohen or Trump, but some of the greatest conmen in the world have "sounded credible" only to find out through investigation that they lied. "Sounding credible" is not a proof of anything. As a general rule I dont watch any hearings from any congressional committees because they want us to believe they have some kind of interest in justice instead of their self-interest in grand standing and self-pontification. This is clearly the same old same old.

Mitchell runs swiftly through the first two options, citing both a condemnation of Trump and an endorsement by Focus on the Family’s James Dobson. But it’s the third option — that God himself has chosen Trump to be president — that Mitchell focuses on.
Evangelical thinker Lance Wallnau then gives Mitchell his take: Trump is a “modern-day Cyrus,” an ancient Persian king chosen by God to “navigate in chaos.
