Giuliani assets will transfer to Georgia election workers he defamed A federal judge has ordered former Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani to place numerous assets, including cash, jewelry and his New York apartment, into a receivership controlled by two former Georgia election workers as they seek to collect a $148 million defamation claim against him. The 24-page ruling issued Tuesday orders Giuliani to place the assets into a receivership within seven days. But U.S. District Court Judge Lewis J. Liman of New York ordered the “immediate turnover” of Giuliani’s apartment on the Upper East Side, which is already for sale. Liman also orders Giuliani to take legal steps that would allow the election workers, Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss, to seek an estimated $2 million in legal fees that Giuliani has said he is owed by Donald Trump’s campaign organization and the Republican National Committee for his work leading Trump’s post-2020 election legal challenges. In documents filed Thursday in a Delaware courthouse, the voting tech company explicitly identified Pirro, a former Westchester County district attorney and New York state judge, as central to its case. Its filings argue that by questioning Pirro, Dominion can meet the key legal threshold of proving Fox showed "actual malice" when it broadcast false claims the firm sought to throw the race to Joe Biden over then-President Donald Trump.
October 3, 2022: The Week reported that Former President Donald Trump filed a defamation suit against CNN on Monday, accusing the network of "trying to tilt the political balance to the left" amid concerns he will run for president again in 2024. Trump is seeking at least $475 million in damages. Trump has long railed against the media, calling reports he doesn't like "fake news," and his relationship with CNN has been contentious for years. His lawsuit, filed in U.S. District Court in Florida, claims CNN is attempting to "taint the plaintiff with a series of ever-more scandalous, false, and defamatory labels of 'racist,' 'Russian lackey,' 'insurrectionist,' and ultimately 'Hitler.'" On Wednesday, the judge agreed to revive one of the counts that Giuliani had successfully dismissed. That count alleged that Giuliani defamed the company by claiming that their “election technology was designed and used to fix, rig and steal elections.”
“Since such a defamatory statement impugns the basic integrity of SUSA’s business, ‘an action for defamation lies and injury is conclusively presumed,'” Manhattan Supreme Court Justice David Cohen wrote in a seven-page ruling. 11.9.22

According to a Daily Beast report, social media posts on Facebook and Twitter reveal Lamotta to be a "dedicated QAnon promoter." QAnon members believe that a cult of pedophiles comprised of Democratic politicians and Hollywood actors runs a child sex-trafficking ring, which President Donald Trump has been secretly fighting to save the world--claims that Trump has refused to denounce. The FBI has characterized QAnon as a growing domestic terror threat. "QAnon is a positive military operation that is working to take down the deep state," Lamotta reportedly wrote on Facebook. In a blog post made in August, Lamotta claimed that Covid-19 is "an entirely man-made fake 'natural pandemic' psyop crisis with a patented, laboratory 'gain of function' bioweapon as its disease." According to CNN, LaMotta told his work supervisor a few days ago that he needed leave for an "assignment" in Philadelphia. The Philadelphia Inquirer reported Friday that Macias, a Gulf War veteran, is the co-founder of "Vets for Trump." Macias was a featured speaker at a Trump rally in Manassas, Virginia, in 2015. On his LinkedIn page, Macias writes: "We are the backbone of the #MAGA Movement." Both holding narratives which do not say "this is how we would do it," but rather "this is the ONLY way to do it." That's why I didn't watch either convention. I don't enjoy watching trains wreck.

For those of us who are pro-life and find some candidates who purport to be pro-life but behave in ways contrary to our Biblical values, let me suggest a way out of the voting conundrum we now face. As a conservative and a Republican for over 40 years, instead of voting for an incumbent whose conduct we find appalling, let me suggest we withhold supporting them and focus on living out our faith by providing additional support to programs that have been successful at reducing unwanted pregnancies and abortions.
For those of us who are pro-life and find some candidates who purport to be pro-life but behave in ways contrary to our Biblical values, let me suggest a way out of the voting conundrum we now face. No evidence has ever been found but if anyone was spying on Trumps campaign it was probably for just they needed a good laugh now and then or looking for his tax returns, which may be just as funny.

The virtual Democratic Convention begins Monday. There will be no crowds, little pageantry and entirely uncharted waters at the remote event this year. The big question is: Will Joe remember to show up?

Of particular interest this election cycle is the religious identity of voters, a factor that appears, at least to me, more important than it has been in recent presidential elections. This is in part because Joe Biden is only the fourth major-party Catholic presidential nominee in U.S. history and in part because Donald Trump continues to make the courting of evangelical voters a major priority of his campaign. Both the Biden and Trump campaigns have appointed coordinators to reach out to faith communities.

We are now living in a time where there is everything from a blur to out and out dismissing the concept of right vs wrong or even left vs right. People are now choosing their own reality. American politics mainly has brought that to the forefront over the last decade or so (and roots go further back).
The pandemic mixed with a election and a narcissist for a President (& candidate) has been the perfect storm to bring this to a head. America is not totally exceptional with the problem as it has affected other countries as well, but we are the worst. Lots of people clamoring for "My Rights My Rights" with no comprehension of the fact that not everyone can have "My rights" if everyone's "my Rights" is different..and they are.
This election is not about Republicans vs Democrats..but instead has become about "my reality" vs "your reality." That is a great breeding ground for conspiracy nuts and theories by the score...and we ARE now seeing them elevated to levels which now are holding offices in DC and state political offices. We are on the edge of a precipice where soon everyone will be doing what is right in their own eyes with even many churches and denominations helping that along. Years and years of churches teaching about everyone's "personal relationship" with Jesus has brought the church to the same place where everyone can go to the same church but have a different relationship with the God they think is there just as long as everyone "feels blessed "about it
And the only caution there is not to seek the God you want ...seek THE God who is there. <<<<and I would go so far as to say that as near as I can tell right now that is going to be the best way through this mess as I dont really see a way right now that we're going to get out of it. We were not established as a Republic...but we are now. 250 years of Supreme Court rulings and legislative actions have brought to here. We are now actively a Democracy. Historically Democracies are very unstable forms of government and ultimately fall apart from within. Yes, American Democracy is at risk...has been for awhile.
