Christian nationalists’ acceptance of President Trump’s spectacular turpitude these past four years was a good measure of just how dire they think our situation is. Even a corrupt sociopath was better, in their eyes, than the horrifying freedom that religious moderates and liberals, along with the many Americans who don’t happen to be religious, offer the world.

Jan 11, 2021: Denison Forum: Was the Capitol riot a “Christian insurrection”? Why we must “live as though the truth were true”
Faith leaders were “nearly unanimous in condemning” the assault, as NPR reported on January 7. But evangelicals are nonetheless being widely blamed for the riot.
The Washington Post headlined: “Trump’s evangelicals were complicit in the desecration of our democracy.” The Atlantic called the riots “a Christian insurrection” and added, “Many of those who mobbed the Capitol on Wednesday claimed to be enacting God’s will.” Religion News Service stated, “Evangelicals must denounce the Christian nationalism in Capitol riots.”

In the stories, images, and video footage of last week’s insurrection at the Capitol, two details drew my attention. First, there was the open display of Christian nationalism. Pro-Trump activists erected a cross at the Michigan Capitol in Lansing, and they danced to Christian music (and sometimes played shofars) in Washington, D.C. As Robert P. Jones argued afterward, the “seditious mob was motivated not just by loyalty to Trump, but by an unholy amalgamation of white supremacy and Christianity that has plagued our nation since its inception and is still with us today.”

"Christian nationalism. When you attach the cause of cause of Christ or Christ's name to a political party or to a particular president or when you see, on the Capitol steps, the flags that say 'Jesus 2020'....I thought [to myself] that's impossible. Breaking and entering into the Capitol building-- that's not Jesus. This has hurt the cause of Christ. This has set us back. Don't we care about offending the least of these," --Seacoast Vineyard Church Lead Pastor Tommy Moore (ABC 15 News)

Rep Matt Gaetz, Rep Paul Gosar, Sarah Palin, Fox News host Pete Hegseth & Laura Ingraham all blamed anitifa for the insurrection. Gaetz used an article from the Washington Times as his source, but the Times took down the article after realizing .they were wrong. More than 60 of them have been arrested (so far) and NONE of them were part of antifa and, in fact, most have a long social media trail showing them planning and clearly as Trump supporters. I have yet to see any Trumplican actually admit those were Trump supporters in DC. They are claiming a "CONSPIRACY" (of course). They seem to just replace one delusion with another delusion. Trumplicans are made of just layer after layer of delusion. 2 cabinet members, several staff, including Betsy Devos have all resigned. Soon it'll just be Trump and all the voices in his head.................... Trump threw his loyal revolutionaries under the bus and then denied he had anything to do with it......................So, I wonder why God lied to so many of these Trumpvangelicals?? I have heard many of them claiming that God told them that Trump was going to be re-elected...or they had a dream or vision from God that told them. Very sad delusion.........Attorney for Trump campaign in PA lawsuit files motion to withdraw: "the client has used the lawyer's services to perpetrate a crime. and the client insists upon taking action that the lawyer considers repugnant".................the Confederate battle flag reached the United States Capitol building, something that did not happen during the Civil War..................The twenty-fifth amendment could be used to take Donald Trump out for the rest of his term. Jan 8, 2021: Charisma News: Contrasting the Kingdom of God and Christian Nationalism
The kingdom of God focuses on the advancement of the gospel. Nationalism focuses on the advancement of the politics of the nation. As much as I believe politics and economics are vital and, to an extent, can represent biblical ethics, I am much more committed to making disciples and seeing humanity change. (It is also possible for a committed Christian to be a faithful witness for Jesus while serving in public life as an elected official.) For me, anything that potentially distracts my energy and focus away from advancing the Gospel takes a backseat in my personal life and ministry. |

Jan 7, 2021: Charisma: Jeremiah Johnson: My Public Apology and Process
My aim in this public apology is twofold. First, I would like to repent for inaccurately prophesying that Donald Trump would win a second term as the president of the United States. I refuse to blame the saints and say, "It didn't come to pass because they did not pray enough." Nor will I proclaim, "Donald Trump actually won, so I was right, but now it has been stolen from him." I believe the first statement seeks to alleviate the prophetic messenger from the responsibility of what he prophesied, and the second statement is filled with potential pride and an unwillingness to humble himself and admit he was wrong.

Nov 22, 2020:
I recollect hearing as far as back when I was a kid about the Israelites making a golden calf in order to worship it. The message was always that God had commanded that we should not worship any graven image. And then having the idea reinforced by the Charlton Heston movie "Ten Commandments" which, back in the day was a yearly TV event usually played around Easter.
No big deal, on my part, as I always thought I would not ever see any logical reason to worship anything made out of any kind of metal. However, now in retrospect, I realize I have worshipped the "golden image" many times in my life. I was enlightened recently through a 1956 book I have in my personal library called "Bible Fires - Messages on Bible Characters" written by Robert G. Lee (Zondervan Press). At a closer look it does seem pretty odd that these people who had seen such great signs and miracles by God would suddenly dump Him in exchange for a golden calf. But...that was not the message. As Lee writes "Looking upon this golden calf the people said (shouting, I think): "These be thy gods, O Israel!" Rather, thy god....the golden calf gave them false and belittling ideas of God...and thus decreased their faith and hope in Him. .....God was still to be worshipped but in the form of a calf."
Ouch. I have many times experienced the miracles and touch of God in my life...but when things got tough or God seemed far away....I have been very guilty of trading in the real God for an image that made more sense at the time. "So," continues Lee, "the sin of the people was not in a breach of the First but of the Second commandment." They did not wish to repudiate God but simply to worship Him under the similitude of a calf." It was through this initial effort that their morals began to crumble and they began a festival of celebration marked by adultery, drunkenness, and fornication (to name a few things) all while believing they were worshipping God when, in truth, they were worshipping an image of God they had created. It was only through the intervention and pleading of Moses to God on their behalf that He did not destroy them. Shortly after that Aaron's sons were killed for offering a strange fire to the Lord. Aaron was complicit with the creation of the golden calf...and this was something his sons were likely to have been observing. The father is a powerful force and energy in any child's life.
Always seek the God who is there and not the God we want to be there. They are not always the same and one not always real.

Your thirty pieces of silver were these last four years,
some Supreme Court Justices,
a couple hundred of lower court judges,
the temporary high of a few political wins,
the bully pulpit of a President’s Twitter feed for forty-eight months,
and perhaps soon, a woman’s right to autonomy over her own body.

For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths. -2 Tim 4: 3-4

Nov 19, 2020:
I seek the X-rated Truth about God
Preachers should rate their sermons like the movies so that people will know what to expect. A G rating would be "generally acceptable" to everyone." G-rated sermons are filled with such cream-of-wheat platitudes as " Go ye into the world and smile." Congregations call them "wonderful" and "marvelous."
GP-rated sermons are for more mature congregations. They mildly suggest change, but use big words and are subtle enough to allow the preacher to retract if he's challenged. These sermons elicit the response "deep" or "thought-provoking."
R-rated sermons mean "restricted to those who aren't upset by the truth." No big words here. The preacher tells it like it is. The preacher of R-rated sermons usually has an outside source of income. The congregation labels these sermons "disturbing" or "controversial."
X-rated sermons are absolutely limited to those who can tolerate having their minds renovated. They're sermons that landed Jeremiah in the well and got Stephen stoned. They're called "shocking," "disgraceful," "totally unacceptable." The preacher that preaches these may not have a church and if he does, it may not be for long. He relies on God instead of offerings.
The truth about God's nature is X-rated. Its so out of sync with the human mindset that its almost seems impossible to accept. Even those biblical heroes who were first given the scoop couldn't believe it. They kept second guessing it and doubting its validity.

Watching Rudy Giuliani connect the voting dots to "steal" the election all the way to Hugo Chavez was like watching an Abbott and Costello movie (with Giuliani playing both parts)..
He did not reveal other problems that he said was on affidavits that he wouldnt show. Based on the logic of Trump's crack lawyer team here are a few possibilities:
👉Robert Deniro played Vito Corleone in The Godfather II. The movie played in theaters back in 1974 including in Michigan. Godfather II was released on VHS and then on DVD. Both versions are for sale in Michigan. Some of the election staff have seen the movie on TV or DVD. They know that DeNiro does not like Trump so the fix was in.
👉Gavin Newsom is the governor of California. California is next to Nevada which is next to Utah which is next to Colorado which is next to Kansas which is next to Missouri which is next to Indiana which is next to Ohio. Ohio is next to both Michigan AND Pennsylvania. Election workers new this so the fix was in.
👉Justin Trudeau. When Trump visited Canada with his wife Melania, there is video of Melania and Justin smiling at each other. Dominion Voting Systems is Canada’s largest election system provider. Trudeau got ahold of Hugo Chavez and together they co-opted to get Trump unelected to free Melania. The fix was in.

"Trump’s character flaws obviously have an effect on policy decisions, but they also send a terrible signal to the rest of the world — not to mention to young Americans growing up in the era of Trumpism. Hence, in addition to normal concerns about domestic and foreign policy, it felt to many of us that, as President-elect Biden often put it, the “soul of America” was at stake. No wonder that Biden’s victory has brought a tremendous sigh of relief, and even tears of joy, to many people in America and around the world." -Tyler Paytas 11.13.20 (ABC Religion & Ethics/Australia)

Finally Donald Trump, who had not finished his term, gets his turn and talks for 4 hours. When he is finished the devil informs him that the cost is $5.00.
When Putin hears this he goes ballistic and asks the devil why Trump got to call the USA so cheaply.

🙏-My Sunday Morning Contemplations-🙏
👉With few exceptions, evangelical churches and leadership have lost their way. They have allowed politics and American capitalism to pollute their message of the gospel. Paul wrote: "You ran well. Who hindered you from obeying the truth? This persuasion does not come from Him who calls you. A little leaven leavens the whole lump."
Capitalism and politics have their place but not before the message of Jesus Christ. Evangelicals that have lost their way need to return to their first love...because leaving your first love has tragic consequences (see Revelation 2),. The message of Jesus Christ is simple.
👉I was hesitant to use any names, but I have to on this one: Trump evangelicals have especially made Christianity into a message of hate and discord.,,,while at the same time waving their emblems of Christianity and "love". What a horrible confused message they send. And all at the altar of Donald Trump, a guy who has already stated that he has never had to ask for forgiveness, for anything.
Over the years right wing politics has become a centerpiece of action and teachings in way too many evangelical church services and activities. And I can attest to that as a former "right winger" who use to seek out churches who would satisfy my spiritual and political pallette. The fruit of that is now being declared and ridiculed across the nation and even the world and, really, there is no way to defend it. The ones who try to justify it just entrench themselves in deeper holes for themselves and become essentially like a cartoon character.
👉 I don't believe God is going to allow it much longer. The time for judgment will begin with God's household. It always has and always will. Seek God first and foremost. If you think politics is the answer to all the problems in the world....then you have an idol. Deal with it before God does.

"I know that Joe Biden wants to debate Donald Trump again. And Americans saw the disaster that Donald Trump had in the first debate. We will listen to the American experts and scientists -- so here it's the Cleveland Clinic -- and they have set up the protocols," Richmond told ABC News Chief White House Correspondent Jonathan Karl on Sunday.

Four brothers left home for college, and they became successful doctors
and lawyers.
One evening, they chatted after having dinner together. They
discussed the 95th birthday gifts they were able to give their elderly mother who moved
to Florida .
The first said, “You know I had a big house built for Mama.”
The second said, “And I had a large theater built in the house.”
The third said, “And I had my Mercedes dealer deliver an SL600 to her.”
The fourth said, “You know how Mama loved reading the Bible and you know
she can’t read anymore because she can’t see very well. I met this
preacher who told me about a parrot who could recite the entire Bible. It took
ten preachers almost 8 years to teach him. I had to pledge to contribute
$50,000 a year for five years to the church, but it was worth it.
Mama only has to name the chapter and verse, and the parrot will recite it.”
The other brothers were impressed. After the celebration Mama sent out
her “Thank You” notes.
She wrote: Milton , the house you built is so huge that I live in only one
room, but I have to clean the whole house. Thanks anyway.”
“Marvin, I am too old to travel. I stay home; I have my groceries
delivered, so I never use the Mercedes. The thought was good. Thanks.”
“Michael, you gave me an expensive theater with Dolby sound and it can
hold 50 people, but all of my friends are dead, I’ve lost my hearing,
and I’m nearly blind. I’ll never use it. Thank you for the gesture just the
same.”
“Dearest Melvin, you were the only son to have the good sense to give
a little thought to your gift. The chicken was delicious. Thank you so much.”

👉Moral relativism can be dangerous since it leads to moral paralysis and indifference. We presently live in a world mired by a multitude of notions of moral relativism.
In a Post-Truth Era, as we are in, politics is defined by a political culture in which debate is framed by appealing to emotions rather than details of policy. Factual rebuttals are ignored, truth is of secondary (or even less) importance. Post-truth politics is dangerous as truth is not a priority anymore. Welcome to 2020.
👉Moral relativism is the view that moral judgments are true or false only relative to some particular standpoint (for instance, that of a culture or a historical period) and that no standpoint is uniquely privileged over all others. (Internet Encyclopedia of Philosophy)

Not a lot of good comedy shows on the TV, or maybe I am just not watching it when they are. "Young Sheldon" is funny. Aside from that the only other comedy show I watch is Tucker Carlson. On one show the nerd will grow up to be brilliant and the other show an intellectual nerd has grown up to be a comedian. #YoureBeingTrumped2020
Trump says he will sign an executive order on patriotic education in schools. Calling it the 1776 commission because "Hitler Youth" has already been taken.
Attorney General William Barr appears to have given up any legal sense he should have as AG and is now stumping for Trump and, apparently, himself to get more time as the AG. Looking over his most recent "commentaries" if he were a just a lawyer I would have no faith in being defended by him.
Minneapolis city council "defunds" the police. Now they brought their police chief to answer to them why crimes is going up and why police aren't there to respond. The first sentence answers the second sentence.
If you are still relying on politicians to end abortion you gonna have a long long long long wait...its not a politics resolvable issue anymore

Sept 9, 2020:
Roe V Wade was in Jan 1973. Every four years since then there has been a Presidential candidate, usually Republican, who has promised to end abortion and stop funding. Reagan didnt do it. Neither of the Bushes did it. Under Trump, in 2017 Planned Parenthood had its biggest budget ever, then beat that in 2018, then beat that in 2019. In between presidential campaigns the Senator and Rep candidates all made the same promises. Didn't happen. Even the states that think they "Defunded" PP did not stop it...they just killed a funding source (and some only temporary).
Back in the late 80s when I was a very active anti--abortion activist I recollect being told by someone that the further we get away from Roe V Wade, the more difficult it will be to reverse it. It is now 2020. It was Albert Einstein who said “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results." The list of prolife candidates since 1973 is almost endless.
Politics is not the answer...it is a heart issue. And it always has been. The "Christian Right" got caught up in the idea that if we pick the right candidates, if we check the right box or pull the right lever we are doing our part of "Gods will." That would mean, however, that when Clinton & Obama won twice we failed God...or maybe God just wasn't paying attention that month. We have heard that "a camel is a horse designed by a committee." Well, a deep dark hole is a skyscraper built by a group of politicians.....especially those that use the words "investigation" or "judicial" or "review" in their title.
Digging our way out doesnt mean electing better builders who promise they will not fail this time....and this time...and this time...and this time....that's back to insanity.
Racism, abortion, and probably a long list of items cant be left to politicians. They require sincere prayer and action from the true elect and a little less intrusion by the elected.

👉Is the media the enemy? I used to think that but not any more.. There was a time when the media did the job of reporting events and challenging problems in government. There are still some doing it, but the rest reports the media according to their narrative of choice. Left Wing, Right Wing, up and down... That media is just taking advantage of the fact that most people dont really care whats going on as long as they protect their narrative. They want an audience to pay the bills because they have built such large new conglomerations and hire their anchors and reporter for up to a million dollars plus per year. Much more than their worth.
👉The media now feeds off people mainly who cannot think critically. The non-critical thinkers choose their news like they're ordering off a breakfast menu. Hence they choose their reality. Relativism is a failed proposition in logic and debate and will have a bad end. When "what I feel" trumps "the way things are" there will only be common ground amongst the people who chose the same news source off the break fast menu.

If you are not supportive of Trump you are a leftist, socialist, baby killer, communist, or Democrat among other things. But, that is the way Trump wanted it and that is what he got. The "rank and file" of the RNC of Trump followed his orders and didn't watch the news he told them not to watch and watch the news he says is OK. Oh he will change periodically but extreme self absorbed people live for today. Trump can lie today and then claim he didnt say that tomorrow. And all of the members of the RNC of Trump will follow his lead. Freedom was never bought with such subservience. The press will often question but the rank and file absolutely do not want their narratives messed with. For some you would think that's all they have. The others step it up a notch and make Trump equal and sometimes more important then Jesus Christ. When it was reported that John Lennon said the Beatles were bigger than Jesus audiences burned their records. With Trump, he just gains new disciples.
👉Bret Stephens, a conservative writer for the New York Times wrote: "The truth about Trump is not that he's crazy. He's a narcissist and a neurotic with a feral talent for attracting the attention he craves," Stephens writes. "In Russia, Putin can compel attention thanks to his complete control over most media and many other aspects of ordinary life. In the United States, citizens can deprive Trump of his political oxygen simply by turning off and tuning out."....instead, though, Trump gets the attentions he lives and breaths off of from his cultish sycophants who make sure he has plenty of oxygen
👉Personally I dont think the new FaceBook user agreement is a big deal. Theres no way to know what could happen until it begins to be enforced. FaceBook was fine until congress got involved when they had those hearings a year or so ago. You know...you just gotta know...that when the congress gets involved in something the end result is like the camel being the horse designed by a committee...and a congressional one at that. And, on a side note, that all came about under a Trump administration....which if the RNC of Trump follows their usual pattern will blame on Obama or Biden. All the bad stuff that has happened during Trump administration is being blamed on a former President or one that will be if he wins in November.
👉California pastor and author John MacArthur has been steadily going off the deep end for awhile now..MacArthur has referred to Catholicism as the "Kingdom of Satan, attacking Steven Furtick and Beth Moore. .But if you read his theology about 10 years ago you could see the beginning. In a nutshell, it's a desire for power which is primary motivation over proclaiming Jesus as Lord to a state that could use the message.,
👉Is the media the enemy?

Sept 1, 2020: Forest Park Review: COVID and the Altenheim site
If the dismal state of village government finances in the ongoing COVID-19 scourge were some partial incentive to move quickly to offer portions of the village-owned Altenheim property up for sale to developers, well the scourge has found a new way to bite the village. Just completed, a village-ordered real estate appraisal of the 11 acres running south off Madison Street put a stunningly lowball value on the green space.

Gateway Pundit, a far-right conspiracist website, accused the CDC of releasing its data “quietly,” while Dinesh D’Souza, the right-wing polemicist, called it “a brewing scandal of epic proportions.” Trump’s legal adviser Jenna Ellis retweeted the Gateway Pundit post. Aug 31, 2020:
👉A false claim pointing to recent data from the CDC indicating that COVID-19 "was the only cause mentioned" in 6% of the deaths registered so far is false.
The conspiracy theory alleges that this revelation means COVID-19 is not as deadly as previously claimed. This is not true. The CDC data indicates that other factors, such as obesity, contributed to deaths. But it does not mean the people would have died had they not contracted the disease. The information came from the conspiracy group QAnon and Trump tweeted the information and, of course, all members of the Republican National Cult Trump have been passing this information around all day as though they had just won a prize. Twitter deleted Trumps tweet. There have been people booted from Twitter for constantly tweeting nonsense that have been banned or temporarily banned for tweeting less false information then Trump has.
Kayleigh "Karen" McEnany responded to a question about the video with: "The president's never seen that video." It was the video Trump himself had tweeted out.
👉Liberty University announced it has opened an independent investigation into "all facets" of the tenure of Jerry Falwell Jr.
And speaking of Falwell, Adult film star Ron Jeremy faces additional sex-crime charges involving 13 more women. If convicted as charged, Jeremy could face a possible maximum sentence of more than 250 years to life in state prison.
And speaking of jail sentences. President Trump pardoned Alice Marie Johnson, a onetime drug convict, a day after she appeared in a campaign video praising his leadership, the New York Times reports.
And speaking of Trump's inflated ego, if Stormy Daniels wanted to get money as compensation from Trump she should have just appeared in a campaign video because that is the only way to Trumps heart......apparently..
👉The Supreme Court's decision striking down a Louisiana restriction on abortion clinics is giving abortion opponents an unlikely opportunity in other states. Officials in Texas, Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky and Oklahoma have recently argued that the court's 5-4 ruling actually bolsters their defense of anti-abortion laws, even though the justices ruled against Louisiana. As a former activist against abortion and certainly still a believer against it...in the game of political football there's never any real win. The matter has to go to the heart of the people..not through the possibly well-meaning but ultimately failed efforts of politicians. The Roe Vs Wade decision was in 1973. 👉Most recent Gallup polling found that 31% of Americans identified as Democrats, 25% identified as Republican, and 40% as other or Independent. People from the Republican National Cult of Trump have stated that being a Democrat is satanic and no one can be a Democrat and be a Christian. So, by their standards they have judged 31% of Americans to be on their way to hell......and it appears they would prefer they go there now rather than vote as a heathen......and the other 40% is likely on the way to hell behind them
