Dec 26, 2012: Christian Apologetics Alliance: “Cold And Lonely Truth” by Arthur Khachatryan
One such apologist whom I have come to greatly respect is Arthur Khachatryan, who serves as the webmaster of this wonderful blog. A few months ago he gave me a copy of his book, Cold and Lonely Truth, and I finally finished it. Needless to say, it was a great read. |
Nathan King
Instead of sitting on the periphery, a North Carolina church is implementing 12 steps towards addressing racism in America. Trinity United Church of Christ is holding Racists Anonymous (RA) meetings every Wednesday as part of their role in improving racial divide.
Speaking to WCNC TV, church minister Rev. Nathan King said RA’s main agenda is to “deal with the racism within ourselves and to eliminate the racism within ourselves.”
King pointed out that their decision to hold the meetings was inspired by the unjustifiable police shootings that have sprung up in the recent year as well as last year’s Charleston church shooting that left nine Black parishioners dead.
“It seemed like every week we were coming into worship and we were doing another prayer because someone had been killed in the street,” King told the station.
While some church leaders do nothing more than pray, King told WCNC TV that he felt he needed to do more in tackling racism.
RA facilitator Carol Stanley said the meetings are attended by close to a dozen people, who are on different levels of recovery from racism.
“Well, some people say they’re racist, some people say they’re not sure,” Stanley told Fox46 Charlotte. “But we’re becoming clearer and clearer on the unconscious racism that we all carry. It’s a way to address one’s own racism as a spiritual practice and discipline. --ALL Christian News

HHG2C Note: It's rather sad that a church...and one claiming "christianity" is suggesting that we all carry some "unconscious" form of racism. Yes, there is some racism in america. But what is more rampant and dangerous are those who wrecklessly label people as "racist."
