Thunderous reception welcomes Trump at Coca-Cola 600 NASCAR race; Internet divided over his ‘Amazing Grace’ gesture Trump arrived at a major NASCAR race in swing state North Carolina on Sunday. The crowd at the venue treated him to roaring applause, but not the Internet. Former US President Donald Trump, the presumptive Republican nominee in the upcoming general election, was welcomed to NASCAR's Coca Cola 600 event on Sunday with thunderous applause. Many chanted “USA" as he headed into the driver of the No. 3 car, Austin Dillon's pit box. Divided reactions to Trump's ‘Amazing Grace’ gesture at the NASCAR race “A salute is a ‘sign’ of respect not a status symbol. Anyone that has ever been in the military would know this.” “Trump hasn't earned the right to salute anyone.” “Every time I think the left has hit the bottom of the idiot barrel they prove me wrong and keep digging… They’re freaking out because Trump saluted during Amazing Grace to honor fallen soldiers, as if it was by accident. Liberals!! Please pull your head out!! We don’t need help mocking you, but thanks for the material!!” (Hindustan Times 5/27/24)READ MORE>>>>> |

"State courts retain the authority to apply state constitutional restraints when legislatures act on the power conferred on them by the Elections Clause...In interpreting state law in this area, state courts may not so exceed the bounds of ordinary judicial review as to unconstitutionally intrude upon the role specifically reserved to state legislatures," --Chief Justice John Roberts wrote in the majority opinion in a 6-3 SCOTUS ruling that North Carolina's Supreme Court was right in concluding that a district map constituted a partisan gerrymander under the state Constitution; 6.27.23

April 7, 2023:
A Democratic state lawmaker in North Carolina announced Wednesday that she is jumping to the Republican Party, giving the GOP veto-proof majorities in both the state’s legislative chambers that should make it easier to enact conservative policies over the opposition of Gov. Roy Cooper. Rep Tricia Cotham was recently elected as a Democrat. I have not looked at her history but I will say that it doesn't matter a lot because the Republicans will take any psycho that will help them (ie, Marjorie Taylor Greene, George Santos, Donald Trump etc).

October 23, 2022:
The GOP’s warnings on the subject of the IRS are generally alarmist and misleading. The agency is not hiring an army of 87,000 “new agents” to target low- and middle-class Americans. Many hires will be used to replace some 50,000 IRS employee retirements in coming years. Others will become customer service representatives answering taxpayer phone calls. In my research of it I was rather disheartened to find out that the GOP right wing liars outnumber the truth by a fairly large margin. Disheartening because many of these misinformed people are elected officials. Including the House Ways and Means Republicans. I will submit some of their articles below.
