Donald Trump’s media allies are demanding retribution in the wake of his conviction. Following weeks of attacks targeting the historic hush money case against the former president, prominent right-wing media figures immediately flooded the public discourse Thursday with extreme and disturbing rhetoric after Trump was found guilty on 34 felony counts. On Fox News and other right-wing outlets, pro-Trump media personalities erupted in anger, blaming everyone from Judge Juan Merchan and Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg to President Joe Biden and the entire U.S. justice system for the “disgraceful” conviction (CNN/5/31/24) READ MORE>>>>> Dec 22, 2022: NPR: Fox News' Sean Hannity says he knew all along Trump lost the election

Dec 16, 2022: The Atlantic: No One Wins in Elon Musk’s Battle With Journalists
Last night, several well-known journalists, including Ryan Mac of The New York Times and Drew Harwell of The Washington Post, were suspended from Twitter. The suspensions were ostensibly related to the journalists’ reporting on an account—@ElonJet, operated by the 20-year-old Jack Sweeney—which was dedicated to publishing the location of Elon Musk’s private jet based on public data. Musk had once promised that his commitment to free speech would prevent him from ever suspending or banning @ElonJet, but he pivoted this week after an apparently unrelated alleged stalking incident. Local journalism is a cornerstone of democracy and a vital source of information for communities across the country, with newsrooms covering local politics, high school sports, local business openings, cultural events, and other matters that help a community remain vibrant and connected. But the industry is facing an existential crisis because of the unyielding power of Big Tech platforms such as Google and Facebook. Media Matters: On a QAnon-affiliated livestream, Mike Lindell confirms Tucker Carlson reached out to help push conspiracies about the 2020 presidential election
Lindell — who made this announcement on a livestream affiliated with members of the QAnon influencer collective We The Media — has previously thanked Carlson for the positive coverage he received from Fox News after the FBI seized Lindell’s phone in a probe involving the alleged breach of voting equipment in a Colorado county. On the September 13 edition of his show, an outraged Carlson announced “The FBI has just raided the guy who sells pillows on this channel. Not because the pillows were bad, but because they don't like who he voted for.” 11.8.22 Crooks & Liars: Newsmax Host Wants Paul Pelosi 'Investigated,' Calls Attack 'Staged'

North Carolina Policy Watch: America is amusing itself to death and hack politicians are taking advantage
In 1985, Neil Postman’s crowning achievement, “Amusing Ourselves To Death,” provided the most prescient analysis and forecast of the current lobotimization of American public discourse. Postman’s work drew a distinction between the Orwellian vision of a totalitarian government seizing individual rights and Aldous Huxley’s “Brave New World,” where freedom and rights were voluntarily sacrificed in favor of medicated bliss, or Soma, which Postman pointed to as an analogy for infotainment — media packaged as news or information but largely driven by sensationalism, propaganda, and entertainment value. With its focus on clicks, views, likes, follows, ratings, and commercial feasibility, much audio-visual media does not necessarily involve, much less encourage, honest intellectual engagement or rational argument. 10.27.22 |

Disturbing article posted to the right-wing website "The Federalist" is titled "We Need To Stop Calling Ourselves Conservatives." It goes on and on about the failure of "conservatism" and essentially seems to be a call to arms and pushes a "revolutionary" view that seems to include embracing fascism and Christian Nationalist perspectives without using the title "Christian Nationalist." (Also, "Trial by Combat).
The Federalist has an interesting following of readers who some I considered intellectual. It's kind of become a group of people I refer to as the "almost and kind of thinking right winger" who aren't QAnon nutty but are walking a thin line and seem to be seeking for the perfect "unhinged" moment to reveal themselves. . Today I looked at it as I have not read it for several years now...and it is cringe-worthy. I have been alerted about info several times from various sources but never took the time to look at it. I have that same sense about Breitbart (web site) and have no interest reading their nonsense anymore. When I fact-check something...it is not unusual to search and end up at Breitbart.
And BTW there is a web site called "American Thinker" but, really, its an embarrassment to the word "Thinker" and is powered by people with keyboards which only needs a little brainpower to use. (QWERTY)

Chris Cuomo grilled Kanye West over his series of antisemitic remarks in a contentious interview, during which he appeared to question the rapper's mental state.
The former CNN anchor conducted an interview with West on NewsNation after the rapper, who is legally known as Ye, tweeted that he would go "death con 3 on JEWISH PEOPLE." West made further antisemitic comments in the interview, ranting about what he characterized as the "Jewish underground media mafia" and complaining about times that "bad business has been done with me," also telling Cuomo he doesn't "believe" in the term antisemetic.

After the Alex Jones verdict today, Marjorie Taylor Greene had this to say about it: “No matter what you think of Alex Jones all he did was speak words.” She wrote on Twitter: "He was not the one who pulled the trigger.
Were his words wrong and did he apologize? Yes. That’s what freedom of speech is. Freedom to speak words. Political persecution must end."
The problem with illogical people like Greene is that Jones was espousing nonsense and claiming it was "the truth." Now had Jones stated before every show that he was making stuff up...then it would be different. And he could rattle off all the nonsense he wanted to.
Jones (and Trump..and Greene) follow the same school of logic in that they feed their nonsense to "the uneducated" and and purposely feed their nonsense to the lowest common denominator on the "Illogical" scale of reality.
Greene is a Christian Nationalist, and, hence has little knowledge of what is in the Bible, let alone know who God is. ...but James 3:3-6 says; When we put bits into the mouths of horses to make them obey us, we can turn the whole animal. Or take ships as an example. Although they are so large and are driven by strong winds, they are steered by a very small rudder wherever the pilot wants to go. Likewise, the tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark. The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole body, sets the whole course of one’s life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell."
I fully accept the explanation of the power of the tongue by James.

I mean, we guess that’s what you’d call them — a publication like Grand Canyon Times, delivered unsolicited to residents in parts of Arizona critical to the coming mid-terms, resembles a paper but one put together by aliens who have access to cut-and-paste and deeply conservative views after they have made a brief and inexact study of human communication. 10.12.22
Infowars founder Alex Jones and parent company Free Speech Systems have been ordered by a Connecticut jury to pay $965 million in damages to the families of eight victims of the Sandy Hook shooting. This is the largest amount to date that Jones has had to pay for spreading falsehoods about the 2012 shooting, The Washington Post reports.
Jones has been found liable for defamation for calling the shooting a hoax and alleging that the victims' families were actors, resulting in their harassment, reports The New York Times. The case presented a particularly bad financial "risk" for Jones, considering he was found to have violated Connecticut's Unfair Trade Practices Act (under which there is no cap on punitive damages), the Times continues.

Former President Donald Trump filed a defamation suit against CNN on Monday, accusing the network of "trying to tilt the political balance to the left" amid concerns he will run for president again in 2024. Trump is seeking at least $475 million in damages.
Trump has long railed against the media, calling reports he doesn't like "fake news," and his relationship with CNN has been contentious for years. His lawsuit, filed in U.S. District Court in Florida, claims CNN is attempting to "taint the plaintiff with a series of ever-more scandalous, false, and defamatory labels of 'racist,' 'Russian lackey,' 'insurrectionist,' and ultimately 'Hitler.'" The suit also refers to CNN describing his false claims of election fraud in the 2020 election as "Trump's big lie."

Dominion Voting Systems is putting Fox News star "Judge Jeanine" Pirro back on the legal hot seat in its clash with the network in a $1.6 billion defamation suit over baseless claims of fraud in the 2020 elections, NPR has learned. In documents filed Thursday in a Delaware courthouse, the voting tech company explicitly identified Pirro, a former Westchester County district attorney and New York state judge, as central to its case. Its filings argue that by questioning Pirro, Dominion can meet the key legal threshold of proving Fox showed "actual malice" when it broadcast false claims the firm sought to throw the race to Joe Biden over then-President Donald Trump. 9.30.22

As Dominion Voting Systems — the elections technology company that was the subject of numerous pro-Trump conspiracy theories after the last election — pursues its defamation case against Fox News, the company is now seeking pre-trial depositions from producers for Tucker Carlson and someone who worked as a producer for Lou Dobbs, whose Fox show was cancelled after a related defamation lawsuit emerged. 9.15.22
It is now July 2022, and OAN’s moment is definitively over. On Sunday, July 31, the network’s carriage deal with Verizon Fios expires and will not be renewed, meaning that OAN will no longer be included in any of Verizon’s cable packages. The Verizon deal is the second major carriage deal that OAN has lost this year; its lucrative distribution agreement with DirecTV expired and was not renewed in April. As of August 1, the network will only be viewable via certain streaming services, its own app, and on certain smaller cable providers such as GCI, which operates in Alaska. Yukon ho, conspiracists!

I couldnt even begin to accurately count the number of news/information web sites I look at in an average day. But I have come to a conclusion that the best places for news are local new agencies and news papers. Not so much the big news medias and various wannabe left and right web sites. Local news networks arent really on a need to post click bait and local news papers are really not able to embellish because their community would catch the lies much easier and quicker so they have local community of "fact checkers" that keeps them more honest. Screaming “this is all out war!” Alex Jones and Roger Stone tell their followers that the only way to win the war against evil Democrats is to send them money and buy their products. I think theyre channeling the spirits of the Osteens, Paula White, and others from that "pay-your-way-to-heaven" ilk. Jen Psaki leaves the White House after holding 224 briefings — more than all of Trump's press secretaries combined. Cultural warriors on the right talk about freedom of speech and being silenced. Those on the left talk about hate speech and "safe spaces". In a world of "cancel culture", each wants to cancel the other. What we don't do is disagree well. The media, with some exceptions, doesn't help. Debate is framed around points of difference and conflict: polarize and divide. This is not what democracy was designed for. Democracy is not dead but it is weakened. Freedom House, which measures the health of democracies globally, now counts 15 straight years of democratic decline. At the same time the political strongman, the autocrat and populist have exploited genuine fear and anxiety to govern not over division but because of it. Yes, democracies world wide are committing suicide. |

Trump spent the week gushing over Putin, calling him a "genius" and insisting he's "playing Biden like a drum." Tucker Carlson of Fox News argued that the only reason Americans hate Putin was because they were victims of a propaganda campaign and that the real enemy was liberals at home. Did Rupert and Lachlan Murdoch influence Fox News’ coverage of claims about two voting technology companies — knowing that those claims were false?
Recent research suggests there may be a link between rising global temperatures and the weather conditions that produce extreme tornado outbreaks, particularly during winter months in the Southeast U.S. But rather than acknowledge that this deadly and abnormal storm was likely made worse by climate change, Fox News has (predictably) already started dismissing the connection.
Under the leadership of CEO Chris Ruddy, Newsmax has established a pattern of platforming powerful men with reported histories of sexual abuse and harassment, as demonstrated by the company’s recent hiring of former Fox News correspondent James Rosen.
"After 18 years — this is my final Fox News Sunday," Wallace, who had hosted the long-running show since 2003, told viewers on Sunday. "It is the last time — and I say this with real sadness — we will meet like this. Eighteen years ago, the bosses here at Fox promised me they would never interfere with a guest I booked or a question I asked. And they kept that promise. As followers of Jesus, truth is our currency. Without it, we have nothing. It’s essential to the integrity and believability of the gospel that we are known as truth-tellers, not argument-winners. Christians should have a reputation for being the most truthful people on earth.
Tip: Don’t share a story just because one of your friends posted it on Facebook. Check out the original source first. Is it reliable? Do other stories on the website seem credible? If a story isn’t widely circulated by conservative and liberal or moderate outlets, its content may be suspect, and by that I mean that the subject will be distributed in both left and right news sources but make an observational spin on it..which is expected.
The day before yesterday I posted a photo on FaceBook. Though I usually do double check news sources....I did not with that one because I got it from some online individuals who generally have credibility. Well, I was wrong and so were they. As a general rule I do check sources and get to know web sites that are hinged or unhinged with their information. They believed the misinformation also..so we were all duped. No hard feelings.
We see disinformation agents on various web sites labeling their content as satire knowing well it is likely to be shared without the satire label. Personally I love good satire and try to utilize it whenever I can. My assumption, though, is that I think my general audience knows that. Most things I write on FaceBook is stuff that I will place on this web site....but FB offers an opportunity for me to test the waters on it. (Plus, since I am my own editor, it gives me time to correct all the language and spelling errors before I post it here. I type slower than I think and I will miss a word or change in thought direction, etc)

The advent of the internet and social media have made it more important than ever for Christians to exercise discernment, and not just in what they believe but also in what they say. If Christians lose their reputation as truth-tellers, they lose their ability to influence others.

Kyle Rittenhouse spoke with Tucker Carlson about politics in their lengthy interview and why he liked both Donald Trump and Andrew Yang.
Right wing Fox talking head, Mark Levin, interviewed Trump about his "picture book." Levin listened to Trump ramble on and on and on...and, of course, never challenged Trump on any of the lies he was spewing. If you have any doubts about Trump mental instability this would clinch it. I saw a few pieces of it through David Pakman's show although I heard the entire show wont be broadcast til this weekend. What I have seen is cringeworthy. I havent seen the whole interview but if you took a drink every time Trump refers to the "they" that are out to get him or the "theys" that contact him to endorse his lies...you would die
On Monday night, Rittenhouse appeared on Tucker Carlson’s program. Following the interview, the Fox host gushed about the teen, saying, “what a sweet kid.”
Stephen Hayes and Jonah Goldberg, Fox News contributors since 2009, have resigned from the network in protest over Fox News star Tucker Carlson’s recent Patriot Purge docu-series. The special, which is currently airing on Fox’s online streaming service Fox Nation, pushes a range of conspiracy theories about the Jan. 6 Capitol insurrection, including the baseless claim that the deadly riot was a “false flag” orchestrated by the federal government.
In a rare move, news mogul Rupert Murdoch told Trump to get over 2020 and move on. The former President has continued to claim that the election was “rigged”.
“I was in many of the impeachment interviews with Mark Meadows where it was obvious when he was a member of Congress that he was more faithful to protecting Donald Trump than protecting the Congress that Donald Trump was ultimately charged with obstructing,” the congressman told Nicolle Wallace.
Mike Turner (R-OH) appeared on Fox News’ show and discovered the depth of Carlson’s betrayal of our American Constitution. The Ohio representative ended up trying to explain why we would rather have Ukraine as our ally than Russia. Life in Russia has been cold since its President aka dictator Vladimir Putin sucked all the power into his quarter, And that coldness does not just refer to its climate.
Brian Williams, the square-jawed news anchor laid low by a fabulism scandal who mounted a career comeback with a popular 11 p.m. talk show on MSNBC, announced on Tuesday that he would step down from his program after a five-year run and depart NBC News entirely at the end of the year.
MSNBC host Joe Scarborough noticed Maloney’s line of attack.
“Let’s move from the psy-ops to actual legislation,” he said, using the shorthand for psychological operations, as he nudged the congressman onto the next topic.
Ben Shapiro's " Daily Wire" published a story about an extremely-obviously-fake image that someone on the internet claimed was a document produced by the Canadian government. It was fixed after he was challenged on it. But I know how these right wingers work...they will take the first thing that comes along and push it fact. In rare instances they will realize they were wrong. Being uneducated and arrogant go hand in hand in the right wing.
If the link says Breitbart...you know it's 99% chance its propaganda. Not worth going to it for 1% of reality. Kings of Clickbait.
Breitbart: Making not-so-smart people feel like intellectuals since 2007.
And thats why I would fail antivaxxxer school
At the heart of a bombshell report showing that AT&T nurtured and enriched the far-right One America News cable network is a larger, more ominous issue: a broken media system that forces all of us to subsidize content we don’t want — and that, in this case, is actually undermining democracy.
The program “FULL BLAST” aired on 30th September 2021 from 2200hrs to 2300 hours that was hosted by Mr. Godfrey Sseguya with Pastor Martin Ssempa, Mr. Isma Lubega, and presidential advisor Ms. Jennipher Namutebi Nakangubi (a.k.a Full Figure) as guests.
As vaccine mandates across the country are beginning to take effect, some mainstream media outlets have focused on the small number of people who have resigned or been fired for refusing to comply, rather than the efficacy of mandating vaccinations through employers.
Fox News host Martha MacCallum said it “kills” her that New Jersey has a program that gives “free lunch” to school children. Seemingly out of nowhere. she added “So, those kids are all going to grow up thinking, well, school lunch is free, right?” Her guest was former Trump economic adviser Larry Kudlow, so I suspect thats why the confusion over whether a kid thinks free lunch is free or whether they think its free or free or free free. Maybe they were rehearsing a Turbo Tax commercial.
A Texas judge has ruled default judgements against Alex Jones and Infowars in two separate Sandy Hook cases. He will now be liable for all damages and a jury will now be convened to determine how much he will owe the plaintiffs. This isn't the end of Jones' legal woes either. Seven other Sandy Hook families are currently suing him for the lies he spread about their dead children.
The world will be a better place without his lies and conspiracies.
Tucker Carlson used an ableist slur on his Fox News show on Monday night, referring to CNN reporter Shimon Prokupecz as a “midget with a microphone.” Carlson was in the middle of a segment about COVID-19 vaccine mandates, the protests against them, and other outlets’ coverage of the debate. Prokupecz does not suffer from dwarfism, according to a report by The Daily Beast, but advocates for various groups have long called for the word “midget” to stop being used.
Over the past year and a half, rightwing political cartoonist Ben Garrison has made a lot of cartoons like the one above. Cartoons condemning Dr. Fauci, the vaccine, masking, social distancing, and pretty much everything anyone is doing to avoid getting COVID. He is quite sure, in fact, that the vaccine (not the virus) is part of an evil plot to depopulate the planet, a theory that grows increasingly questionable each day that millions of vaccinated people refrain from dropping dead out of nowhere.
Megyn Kelly gained notoriety for calling Trump out in the debates. Now she kissing up to all the Magas. The delusion is strong with these folks.
If they were a rock group theyd be called: Donald Trump and his AssKKKissers
We always have to wonder just how brainwashed his sycophantic followers really are these days, how far they're really willing to follow him, which cliffs they're willing to hurl their bodies off of to prove their allegiance. But we do know that one of the many, many Fox News idiots, Rachel Campos-Duffy, was reporting on President Joe and First Lady Dr. Jill Biden taking a bike ride in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, this weekend, and decided to lob some zingers in the president's direction. You know, because he was exercising. Like an old person. Exercising. What a senior citizen. On a bike. Like an old dead person.
Sept 3, 2021: Vanity Fair: Anti-Vax Radio Hosts Keep Dying From COVID
Conservative radio hosts all across America are losing their lives for the cause. In the past month alone, five talk radio personalities who were vocal COVID-19-deniers, anti-vaxxers, or anti-maskers have all died after contracting the virus. Sept 3, 2021: Christian Post: Pelosi plans vote for abortion rights bill as states eye Texas-style ban

During the segment, Darling expanded on an op-ed he wrote that was published by USA Today titled, "Why Christians should get the COVID vaccine." Darling told co-host Joe Scarborough that getting the vaccine fulfills the biblical mandate to “love our neighbors.”
CNN’s Chris Cuomo has seen a ratings decline since his brother, Andrew Cuomo, resigned as governor of New York after being accused of sexual harassment by multiple women.
James E, Causey, the noted Milwaukee journalist, comes across as a force with his linebacker physique, dreadlocks, designer shades and an African pattern shirt of many colors. But his vocal delivery is slow and low key, almost mesmerizing as he converses with me at an outdoor coffee shop in his inner city neighborhood.
The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals on Tuesday said a San Diego federal judge was right to throw out a $10 million defamation suit against MSNBC’s top-rated host. The opinion of a three-judge panel was posted three weeks after hearing arguments in a virtual hearing based in Pasadena.
Two recent incidents of assault on journalists pontificate growing concern about increased hazards being faced by Nigerian journalists in the course of performing their official duties recognized by the constitution.
The sudden rise and precipitous fall of Newsmax, explained by an expert.
The news reports news. Whether you approve of the news or not, it only becomes fear-bait if you let it. The media has its faults and errors & share of stupidity. But blaming them isnt going to help...what you let saturate into your brain is all on you.
Kevin McCarthy has chosen his selections for the 1/6 select committee:

FAUCI to Rand Paul: "Senator Paul, you do not know what you're talking about, quite frankly, and I want to say that officially. You do not know what you're talking about." I'm not a doctor so I dont give out medical advice.
If I wanted to be a really bad doctor I'd be Rand Paul
Sean Hannity told people to get vaccinated last night. He must not watch Fox News.. Fox News hosts now want everyone to get vaccinated. They must have realized they were killing their own viewers
If you look at history the Media began going off the rails just after the Fairness Doctrine was revoked. And it has gone from bad to worse since then. I think it should be brought back. It won a Constitutional test in 1969 where SCOTUS ruled that it protected the First Amendment. Under Reagan the FCC revoked it via Reagan appointees. It was about that time that Rush Limbaugh came on the scene. Two rules of the doctrine, the personal attack rule and the "political editorial" rule, remained in practice until 2000. The media then became a free-for-all.
The Fox Business Network has canceled Lou Dobbs Tonight, The Los Angeles Times reports. I'm surprised he lasted as long as he did, but, then again, Fox has been very patient with conspiracy theorists.
5, 4 , 3, 2 , 1...and the cry of Dobbs being a victim of "cancel culture" from the Domestic Trump Terrorist Maga wing of the GOP begins...
Smartmatic lawsuit, filed in New York state court, accused Fox News, Rudy Giuliani, Sidney Powell and hosts Lou Dobbs, Maria Bartiromo, and Jeanine Pirro of intentionally lying about Smartmatic in an effort to mislead the public into the false belief that the 2020 presidential election was stolen from former President Donald Trump.
