November 10, 2023:

The most profound and deeply damaging impacts of President Lyndon Johnson’s Great Society were the destruction of the family and crippling of the poor.--Newt Gingrich Twitter 11/9/23
Gingrich is, of course, wrong, and almost appears he is beinbg purposel racist: Historian Alan Brinkley has suggested that the most important domestic achievement of the Great Society may have been its success in translating some of the demands of the civil rights movement into law. Four civil rights acts were passed, including three laws in the first two years of Johnson's presidency. The Civil Rights Act of 1964 forbade job discrimination and the segregation of public accommodations.
The Voting Rights Act of 1965 assured minority registration and voting. It suspended use of literacy or other voter-qualification tests that had sometimes served to keep African-Americans off voting lists and provided for federal court lawsuits to stop discriminatory poll taxes. It also reinforced the Civil Rights Act of 1964 by authorizing the appointment of federal voting examiners in areas that did not meet voter-participation requirements. The Immigration and Nationality Services Act of 1965 abolished the national-origin quotas in immigration law. The Civil Rights Act of 1968 banned housing discrimination and extended constitutional protections to Native Americans on reservations.
He put that tweet as the lead his article article but took no time to explain what he meant by it. I have no reason to believe it's true. Based on his inability to explain his opinion (or lack of) I have to rate it a lie. I believe his deeply racist attitude is exposed. He should ask his friends about it at his next Klan meeting.

November 6, 2023:

Former GOP House speaker Newt Gingrich said this week that "the Democratic Party is rapidly developing a pro-terrorist wing. When the Vice President’s step daughter raises $8 million for a terrorist organization there is something sick going on. When the Vice President responds to a nearly 400% increase in anti-semitism by talking about Islamophobia there is absolute pro-terrorist bias." What he is purposely ignoring is that Vice President Kamala Harris's stepdaughter, Ella Emhoff, has been actively soliciting funds for Gaza NOT Hamas and aimed at providing immediate assistance to the children in Gaza. The fundraiser has already gathered over $7.8 million in contributions and is managed by the Palestinian Children’s Relief Fund. The PCRF is the primary humanitarian organization in Palestine that delivers medical relief and humanitarian aid where it is needed. The main objective of the PCRF is to locate in the United States and Europe free medical care for children who cannot be adequately treated in the Middle East.
In 1990 GOPAC distributed a memo with a cover letter signed by Gingrich titled "Language, a Key Mechanism of Control", that encouraged Republicans to "speak like Newt". It contained lists of "contrasting words"—words with negative connotations such as "radical", "sick," and "traitors"—and "optimistic positive governing words" such as "opportunity", "courage", and "principled", that Gingrich recommended for use in describing Democrats and Republicans, respectively. So that's a little background info that jump started them to where we are now. Their obtuseness is done on purpose.

George Santos claims 'victory' after House rejects attempt to remove himIronically, Rep. Dan Goldman (R-NY) was able to bring the measure to give Santos the boot because of Santos deciding to yield his half-hour time to speak to him. “Mr. Chair, I yield five minutes to my colleague from New York, Mr. Goldman,” Santos said on the House floor Wednesday. The gesture then let Goldman get free rein to tear into Santos. (M.L. Nestel/Raw Story)

A week ago, Judge Ronald Gould of the Ninth Circuit Court, wrote in a concurring opinion in Chen v. Albany Unified School District:
Hateful speech encourages hateful thoughts, which lead to hateful goals of individuals; those, in turn, lead to hateful actions and sometimes violence, resulting in harm to the public. No court would seriously entertain an argument that schools must teach hateful speech on the grounds of academic equality or fairness when it so clearly is antithetical to our values. Hate speech has no role in our society and contributes little or nothing to the free-flowing marketplace of ideas that is essential to protect in a school environment.
